Every morning, I sit with my coffee and gaze out my window at the view. It is time to be alone and gather my thoughts for the day ahead.
I always wonder why we rush around the way we do. There seems to be no time to think. Life is just a race to see who gets to the finish line first. I still work hard for the things I want to achieve, but it has to be achievable. No wonder we are all stressed and depressed with the way we live, and it does not seem to benefit us either.
I have changed over the years. I used to be a people pleaser, but I have realised now, as I have got older, that life is too short. I keep the good people in my life who give it value, and I let the others go. I love the people around me, family, friends, and we support each other, but I don’t rely on them for happiness. People can let you down, after all, they are human. I now ignore any negative criticism and rejection, and take it as a sign that I have to avoid that path and find something new.
One of my greatest achievements is overcoming difficulties in my life. I can look back and say that I did it. It was not easy, but it is amazing what you can achieve if you put your mind to it. I have found strength in my struggles, not to expect too much of others and to try to do the right thing.
Final Thoughts
We live in a crazy world, and I find this is the only way to survive the madness. Every time something negative happens, or when I have a bad experience, I replace that thought with a positive one. It makes a difference, and I find ways to hold on to what is good.
