ABOUT

My name is Louise. I was diagnosed with autism in my late forties.

This blog is my journey from late diagnosis, how I navigate the ups and downs of life, and the strategies I use to cope.

I also write about my lifestyle, my life experiences, and raising neurodiversity awareness.

Autism is a spectrum, and it can look different in each person. This is one way autism can present.

This blog is for reference and education only, and not professional advice. Please consult a specialist for diagnosis or support.

Please like, comment and subscribe. I would love to read your ideas, thoughts and opinions.

What I Wish My Pet Could Understand

Daily writing prompt
If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?

I do not have one thing, but four.

I am not ignoring you on purpose. There are some days I am just really busy, but that does not mean I do not love you or want to spend time with you. I am still your human and treat dealer.

You already ate. Don’t continue to meow and look at me like that. You can only have one set of treats a day, two wet meals and dry food for snacks. No means no more until tomorrow.

I groom you for your sake, not mine. Your coat will get matted if you do not let me do it. I know it sometimes tugs, but it will look good and feel good once I am finished.

Do not scratch my bed in the mornings. I am getting up to feed you, but just give me five more minutes.
