ABOUT

My name is Louise. I was diagnosed with autism in my late forties.

This blog is my journey from late diagnosis, how I navigate the ups and downs of life, and the strategies I use to cope.

I also write about my lifestyle, my life experiences, and raising neurodiversity awareness.

Autism is a spectrum, and it can look different in each person. This is one way autism can present.

This blog is for reference and education only, and not professional advice. Please consult a specialist for diagnosis or support.

Please like, comment and subscribe. I would love to read your ideas, thoughts and opinions.

Things for a Sustainable Lifestyle

Daily writing prompt
Are there things you try to practice daily to live a more sustainable lifestyle?

I love to do something to protect the environment. We have to live on this planet, and if we do not protect our home, we have to live with the decisions we make. We have nowhere else to go.

The most obvious one is recycling. I recycle as much as I can. I even use environmentally friendly cat litter. The corn litter breaks down naturally, unlike other types of litter.

I try to save electricity. I switch off everything. This means I switch off my cooker at the wall, I turn off lights in rooms I am not using, and I use my washing machine’s eco modes that use less electricity and water.

I have reduced my meat consumption over the last few years. I eat a lot more Quorn. At the start, I did not like it, but the more of it I ate, the more I adapted to the taste. I think they have tried to improve the flavour too.
